I like the forwardness and edge of the young '14s I’ve had. This is no exception.

  • 2014 Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Viré-Clessé - France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Viré-Clessé (8/13/2017)
    Terrific young white Burgundy and so good at this level. For $30, it delivers and more. Nose shows some richness. Palate is tart apple and a cool, but rich white fruit essence. Acid is lively. Brisk. Terrific purchase here that you can blow through young and really enjoy.

Really good stuff. The 2014 Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Villages is also a tremendous value at around $19.

Definitely worth a look.
And, while I don’t often do this, and often doubt people who say such things…this wine was still mighty tasty on night two.
