TN: 2014 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Bourgogne (France, Burgundy, Bourgogne)

Might as well drink the good stuff, but I am not so crazy as to open a 2014 1er Cru or Grand Cru right now. This was delicious after about 45 minutes of air. Red fruit, moist earth, and menthol dominated the aromatics, and the red fruit and earth powered through the palate, with the menthol echoing again on the finish. I spent about 3 hours with the wine and it remained consistent (it remained consistent…it remained consistent) throughout. Left about 1/3 of the bottle corked up overnight. Delicious.

And…

I like it!

Superb Bourgogne. But very hard to find nowadays. What did you pay?

This is one of the very top Bourgognes. Great note.

When I bought on release it was between $40 and $50 depending on source.
