2014 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Bourgogne - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne (10/24/2025)
So long friend...it's been a great ride! These Bertheau Bourgogne's have all been a big smile on my face...the essence of elegance, the essence of femininity, the essence of Chambolle. The 14 is still fresh and alive with vibrancy...all very subtle and chill...that strawberry/raspberry/cherry fruit...still crunchy and tarted with acidity...again, very subtle and translucent...elegant bodied...showing nice complexities of earthy strawberry leaf, damp forest floor, cinnamon and xmas spice, red licorice dryness, potpourri florals...finish is starting to go from tart to dry...might be just starting make the turn to the back nine...but like I've said numerous times with these wines...absolute grace...absolute Chambolle...absolute Bertheau! ❤️ (94 points)

Love reading your notes in general, Buzz, but when the wine speaks to you, they are a joy.

2014 Bertheau’s are really good now. We had the Amoureuses 2014 from Bertheau and Roumier in our september tasting and Bertheau was the clear winner (and one of the top wines of the tasting), textbook amoureuses, airy red fruit with a fine, lingering aftertaste. Roumier tasted younger but rather monolitic (and this for a 10x price difference…) so yes it might keep longer but it gave little pleasure now.

Well what do ya know…found another bottle of the 14, as well as a 13, in the cellar! Not done yet! :heart_eyes:
