TN: 2014 Cristom Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard

  • 2014 Cristom Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills (6/29/2017)
Decanted three hrs. Right off the bat, what is most appearant is how un 2014 like this 14 Jessie tastes. Accessible as all Cristoms are, but the muscle under the hood is impressive, strong notes of red currant and spices, with acidity that had me thinking 2010 or even 2011 if served blind. But there is still the trademark exotic notes you often get in these wines - sassafras, cured meats, and a wild, slightly feral quality. While the outstanding 2014 Eileen may be a more complete wine, this one should age really, really well. (93 pts.)

One of those boring, everybody knows about them producers that I’ll buy year in and year out.

+1. Bought a few to put down. The 2002 that we had recently was great also.
