TN: 2014 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly

  • 2014 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Côte de Brouilly (2/2/2018)
Wonderful vibrant red cherry, raspberry, strawberry fruits here…with some DEEP minerality of crushed rock and iron earth. Silky smooth, it lays a light sour skinned coat over the palate, and continues to please with wonderful wild flower florals and spices. Silky, yet dry dusty tannins suggest a good ager here. Just love the transparent crunchy and tart red fruits in this somewhat elegant wine…with a little wild side to it! Fan. (93 pts.)

Big fan of Thivin CdB. Have quite a few of the Thivin single vineyards but have yet to crack to see if they are worth the premium.

Thivin has just been killing it over the past few years…imho, 2014-2016 have been top-5 in Beaujolais, period.

I’d go back even further! Thivin has been killing it for a long time. I probably buy more of this than any other Beaujolais, and one of the few that I buy in most years.

Now need to go put my money where my mouth is and grab some 2016!

Does anyone happen to know who the Ontario agent might be, if there is one!
