TN: 2014 Antica Terra Pinot Noir Ceras (USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley)

Somm at The Pocket in Carmel kindly gave us his last bottle for our 30th wedding anniversary dinner last night. Fantastic wine and exactly in line with what I guided him our tastes were. Silky red fruit with subtle spices and a lovely harmonious follow through on the mid palate and finish. Benefitted from being served cooler. Outstanding.

Don’t know if the Pocket is well known but the wine list is fantastic and the sommelier (Sonny) awesome. Eg 2007 marc roy Alexandrine and 01 dugat py evocelles plus amazing list of nicely aged oregon and cali wines. We have a few more days here in Carmel and we’re definitely going back! Very highly recommended.

Have been a few times - always for happy hour. Their ‘pocketini’ is fabulous and very fairly priced at Happy Hour

Doubt it can beat La Playa’s ‘dime hour”!!

Someone brought one of these for a dinner party a few months back and it was the star of the show alongside a 2001 Tondonia Gran Reserva. Your notes are spot on.

You are right . . . but we don’t have the time to ‘hang out’ until they decide to make it happen!

Cheers

I’m willing to dig in😎

Not with a 3 year old in tow my friend :upside_down_face:

Managed to source another bottle of this to share with my wife and daughters on Christmas Day. Sadly, this was almost the polar opposite of the bottle the somm served us in Carmel. Entirely dark fruited, almost overripe with heady levels of alcohol. Almost a perfect caricature of what I don’t like about lots of Cali PNs. Weird how 2 bottles could be so different.
