First shot with Idlewild for me.
Fist shot with Valdiguie as well.

Very light, transparent red. Smells like young Beaujolais. Soft, understated cranberry/strawberry fruit. Pretty. 12.5% alc. Not a blockbuster by any means, and while young, it seems to be drinking well already. In general, quite food-friendly. With a slight chill, it would be a good warmer weather sipper imo.

I really like the Idlewild wines. I have a mixed case of stuff coming soon. No Valdiguié though. I did just receive some Forlorn Hope Valdiguié. Looking forward to trying that soon.

JeezLuweez, Dennis… my case arrived today & I pulled the Valdigue to Pobega tomorrow. Maybe will do the Cortese instead.
Sorry you missed out on the '13 Arneis. It’s spectacular.
Idlewild…a no-brainer.

Been meaning to try Idlewild for a while, and scored a couple from Envoyer. Jumped right in. I like it. Want to try more. I’ll look for your notes on the others [cheers.gif]

Will be sampling through a bunch soon: Cortese, Barbera, Dolcetto and Carignan.

Maybe with a varietal labled Valdiguie but if you have ever had a California Gamay Beaujolais or Napa Gamay then you most likely have had Valdiguie [wink.gif] [cheers.gif]
