2013 Domaine Rion Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny (1/22/2023)
I really love where the ‘13 village wines in Burgundy are at this time - I’ve had great luck with them, and this wine follows suit in a big way. Hints of baking spice and slate on the nose, sappy with dark red fruits, palate is beautifully crunchy with red fruit (strawberry, cranberry, raspberry) and incredibly rewarding. Round and silky on the mouthfeel, it lies gracefully on your palate, finishes with a strong acidic profile that pulls in the cranberry once again.
I agree. 13 village Burgundy’s are in an excellent spot. I recently had the Rion as well and enjoyed it immensely
2013 has been a sleeper vintage for me for 1ers too. some disappointments but more positive surprises…and priced well.
I’m a big fan of 13.
