I agree; it’s a great under the radar vintage. I tasted Trapet and Rossignol Trapet Chambertin earlier this year, and loved both, the straight Trapet by the tiniest of notches, the better wine.
I’ve got a 2013 Bertheau Bonnes Mares I’ll be having soon. Maybe it’s approachable a fair bit younger than the Vogüé.
In Quebec, Canada SAQ relased the Trapet - Chambertin 2022 at CA$1382.50 and the R-Trapet Chambertin n 2022 at CA$812.50.
Fwiw we had the 2013 Amoureuses from Bertheau in spring and this was still on the young side
2013 is a vintage I pretty much ignored to my chagrin. Just a couple of mixed cases of Cathiard and Chevillon, but friends have been opening some tasty bottles of Bertheau, Hudelot-Noellat and Dujac.
Larry, which 2013 Bertheau’s have been good?
The usual suspects, Bonnes Mares and Les Amoureuses. I’ve loved the 1er Cru in other vintages, a great price performer. But I don’t recall the 13.
If you’re a fan of Bertheau here are some pictures from our tasting with him last November. He’s very particular and keeps a neat and orderly cellar, although it’s very cramped in there. He’s very proud of his Aligote which he keeps in tank, doesn’t sell it, and loves to pour it for visitors. Francois is the bald guy in the background.
Oh man that’s so cool! If I ever get to Burgundy, that’s certainly one producer that I’d love to see.
Was the 2013 Bonnes Mares in the zone?
As I remember yes, although since it wasn’t pulled from my cellar I didn’t write a tasting note. In general I find that Bertheau’s wines drink well young, he destems the fruit and doesn’t use much new oak, so the wines are very pure and transparent.
