TN: 2013 Denis (Isabelle et Denis) Pommier Bourgogne (France, Burgundy, Bourgogne)

  • 2013 Denis (Isabelle et Denis) Pommier Bourgogne - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne (1/27/2017)
Popped and poured. Dark cranberry, red cherry, mossy forest floor, hints of cola and spices, some subtle oak as well. Very pure pinot noir on the nose. Beautiful on the palate with integrated acidity that highlights red cherry and cranberry. Some peppery spice on the mid helps add balance. Very good acidity and fine-grained tannins. A clean, precise finish gets you ready for the next sip. The best $20 Bourgogne I’ve had in a long time.

I recently had the 14, and it was a pretty nice bottle. IIRC, this is from further north than the Cote d’Or

Past Dijon, right?

Now this got me excited! Their Côte de Léchet is superb but I did not even know that they make red(s).
