TN: 2012 Ultramarine Blanc de Noirs Heintz Vineyard Sonoma Coast

2012 Ultramarine Blanc de Noirs Heintz Vineyard Sonoma Coast - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (12/26/2016)
My wife and I had loved the Ultramarine Rosé, so we were sorry to see it replaced by the Blanc de Noir in the lineup, until we tasted the wine. Red berry, apple skin, floral notes and deep acid-driven minerality washed away our concerns and replaced them with joy of a new discovery. Paired with a laser-focused Pierre Péters Blanc de Blancs, this stood up on its own, and sang in a different, lower voice that was just as clear. Where the Péters was soprano, this was contralto, singing beautifully in its own range.

Thanks so much for the note (and taking one for the team)! As a lover of the rosé, I, too have been slightly wary of the blanc de noirs, although I had a feeling they would err on the amazing side. This eases any doubt I had and also convinces me to hold on to these bottles for just the right occasion. Cheers!

You’re welcome. There is no harm at all in drinking one now.
