TN: 2012 Joseph Drouhin Bourgogne Blanc Laforet - QPR!

Remarkable for an ultra-large production Bourgogne…

2012 Joseph Drouhin Bourgogne Blanc Laforet - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc (5/19/2014)
Wow, this is a ton of wine for $11. Quite simply, it tastes like real, well-made white burg. Lemon, apple, hint of spice, chalky, and a surprising amount of dry extract. Lip smacking acid; only a hint of hollowness in the midle betrays that this isn’t a $50 wine - but I’ve had plenty of $50 white burgs that were worse. (88 pts.)

This and their Macon Villages (which is usually a dollar or two more) are two of my go to bottles to parties, etc. Jadot’s Macon Villages as well.

Funny part is that I liked this a bit more than a Macon because it had a little more flesh to it . . . was more like a baby CdO than a wine with a Macon character . . .

Totally agree, I like it as a wine to (inexpensively) show people the tip of the iceberg of Burgundy.

Hell the tip of the iceberg in Burgundy is about all I can afford! I like it as well, haven’t had 2012 yet
