2012 Eredi Lodali Langhe Chardonnay - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC (4/24/2014)
A great surprise. Served blind, this was obviously Chardonnay, but in a steely, mineral-driven format, with fresh saline and cool acids supporting the clean, fresh orchard fruits. Not terribly complex, but interesting and a very good food wine. Well composed, lightly spiced, and well balanced; at times, it was even pretty. recommended, 13,0% abv. Drinking perfectly now and for the next 2 years.
