TN: 2012 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses

2012 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru (3/31/2019)
Time to start checking the 2012s for premox, and this wine (under DIAM) is in fine form. Lemon curd, crisp pear, chalky minerality, it’s all there. Some have said it’s not showing “Chablis” enough, but let’s understand climate change, and that in most vintages, wines are going to be at least a little bit riper. It still shows as Chablis, with deep minerality and clean flavors. Wonderful wine that is developing very well.

Really, this sounds about as I would expect. 12 was a warmish burgundy vintage, and Preuses is perhaps one of Fevre’s bigger wines. Glad to hear it’s showing well.

With rare exceptions (‘14) they are nearly all warmish vintages these days.
