TN: 2012 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée

  • 2012 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée (8/24/2014)
Highly perfumed nose of cherry and red berry fruits, freshly grated ginger and aniseed. Full and lacy in the mouth with lovely poise, detail and nice underlying minerality. Tannins are sweet and round, acidity bright and fruit juicy. It has real persistence and leaves a wonderful mouth aroma once swallowed. Not sure anyone is making better Village Vosne than Louis-Michel at the moment.

My favorite village wines come from that address. Many thanks!

Was this the la Colombiere or the Clos du Chateau, Jeremy?

Just the standard Village Robert.

I didn’t know that he makes 3 different villages…??

Jeremy
any piney oaky character?
the 2008s seemed to have an oak hallmark and I hope he has eased back

Robert, they make Colombiere, Clos du Chateau and a standard Village from 11 different parcels.

No piney oak that I could detect Michel.

Cheers
