  • 2012 Ceritas Pinot Noir Elliott Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (9/20/2014)
Clear, light garnet color. Clean aromas, medium+ intensity, youthful notes of black cherry, fig paste, raspberry, violet, clove, allspice, saffron, sandalwood and tea. Dry on the palate with medium+ flavor intensity. High acid, medium to low tannin. Juicy and bright red fruit- cherry and raspberry; earth notes of limestone, chalk, mushroom; spice notes of cardamom, allspice, sandalwood. Harmonious and finesse-driven. Silky fine-grain tannin. Complex, and full on the finish. Drinking very well out of the gate, with a lot of future promise. (93 pts.)

Sounds great, thanks for posting. I’ve yet to open one of John’s and Phoebe’s vineyard designate Pinot Noirs. I was so impressed by the '11 Costalina PN that I’ve maxed out my allocation of all of their Pinots. I have quite a collection of them, and I hope these “on faith” purchases will pay off in the future.
