Good. Rich, cherry fruit, tastes like a bit of new oak with a creamy vanilla top note. Noticeable old oak but not overly intrusive, acids are round, lively but not harsh. Spicy, ripe tannin on the long, pure finish
Good balance in a medium to large scaled Chianti. Probably better with a few years to soften. Delicious now.
Note: I’ve encountered wines in the past that supposedly did not see new wood yet vanilla was obvious to me. I’ve read, and also been told , that sometimes the ripeness of fruit is the source of the vanilla notes.
