TN: 2012 Bedrock Wine Co. Heritage Wine Dolinsek Ranch

  • 2012 Bedrock Wine Co. Heritage Wine Dolinsek Ranch - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (7/15/2014)
Opened approximately 1 hour prior to serving. Pours a dark purple, barely lightening at the edges. Complex nose, lots of black fruit - plum, black cherry, blueberry - mixed with fennel, oak, and black pepper. Really good stuff. On the palate it’s similar to the nose, with great acidity and young tannins. I’d say this needs several more years to come together but it tastes so good right now. The finish was more peppery, spicy blackberry and plum.

I like the Dolinseks young. Super tasty.

I have a single '11. Ready to go, or better to hold?

But they’re soooo much better after 2-3 years or more! Try a 2009 sometime soon if you can…

(and actually, all of Morgan’s reds go from yummy to yummy and profound after 2-3 years…ymmv on that, of course)

Imho, hold for one more year.

I’m just starting to open up some 2010s…the Pagani is off the chain deliciousness.

I have 2 '11s remaining, at least that’s what CT tells me, and no notes. [oops.gif]

I suggest it might be best to wait several more years. These wines have the requisite acidity and tannic structure to last for a while. [cheers.gif]
