Today sucked. Missed work working on a broken down truck and fighting with ridiculous Japanese diesel truck engineering. Why a freaking oil seal on a vacuum pump would cause an alternator to fail is something that can only happen on an Isuzu. A seemingly simple fix took the better part of a day chasing down parts and struggling with brittle hoses, greasy oily parts and an o-ring that added 3 hours to the job. When it was all over I needed something to reward myself. Since I have a half dozen of these I figured WTF, I deserve it even if it is still in diapers.

2012 Bedrock Wine Co. Bedrock Heritage Wine - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley (4/9/2014)
I know, it’s infanticide, but I just had to. The nose is incredible. I am completely satisfied with just the wonderful aromas coming form my glass. Deep dark blackberry, boysenberry, a touch of leather and oak.
But alas I had to drink it too or my better half would have drank the entire bottle by herself. Rich, opulent, ripe fruit, wonderful acidity and chewy tannins framed by a nice peppery spice that lingers on and on. Damn this is good. Gone at hour 3. Do these justice and let them sit for a while or let them breathe a good while. Best BR Heritage to date.
