2011 Rivers-Marie Chardonnay B. Thieriot Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (1/4/2015)
Medium yellow color. Explosive nose of vanilla, buttery oak and citrus notes. On the palate, this wine provides vanilla, lime, citrus fruit, and spice. The wine is medium-bodied with balanced acidity and good fruit intensity as well as a long, spicy finish. Overall, this wine has terrific fruit, without overripe flavors, and the oak is deftly integrated, giving complimentary notes to the citrus fruit. It paired beautifully with mahi fish tacos and mango salsa. The wine complimented the sweetness of the mango salsa and created a synergy that was greater than the individual components. (93 pts.)
