Oh, yes I did, and my sorrow lies in the fact that it gives me one less in my cellar. I have Pobegad my first 2011 Myriad/Quivet and it feels so good.
P&P and I used a Vinturi.
2011 Myriad Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon- USA, California, Napa Valley (11/8/2013)
An interesting nose of black currants, cassis, violets and cream soda. Palate shows a deft balance with a bold chewy tannin that really lays low. Acidity spot on and what you get is a smooth conveyor across your tongue of black and red fruits with Creme de Cassis, pretty soft violets, worn leather and a hint of soy—just a hint. What an amazing array of layers this possess. Finish has it all as it started. This wine has learned how not to make youth a negative thing. Mike Smith has honed his skills to the point of delivering such an amazing QPR at such an unheard of price and for this I must commend him, again. (93 pts.)
Maybe a new Urban Dictionary term found too:
CellarDranker- when you go to make a note in cellartracker and the wines have not even been accepted into inventory yet! How can you drink one that you don’t even have? It’s a CellarDranker
Gary, If I were you and knowing what I can tell you: Open it the morning and slow-ox it.
Thanks for the note. Did you get any heat? I noticed it’s 15.1 abv, which seems high for 2011. That or I have just been out of the Napa Cab game for too long.
I was lucky enough to have a third (or less) of a bottle left from last evening. Just replaced the very thick cork ( ) and let it sit on the kitchen counter-top. No Argon, Freon or Nitrogen; no Coravin, Vacuvin or Vintage Keeper. This is still rocking. It has picked up some additional depth and cohesiveness with a slant to the redder fruits. What a great showing on a wine made in what many are calling a ‘off year’. If you own these, consider yourself lucky.
Thanks for the note, Mike. I actually mirrored you in opening the 2011 Myriad last night. My tasting notes are very similar to yours. I also bit the bullet and opened the 2011 Arnot Roberts Legan Pinot Noir and 2012 Zepaltas Russian River Pinot Noir. I figured someone had to sacrifice and my friends who were over were very appreciative. I will try to post TN soon.
