TN - 2011 Guigal Condrieu

2011 Guigal Condrieu - Little shy on the nose but offering butter, toasted marshmallow, and nectarine. Only the faintest floral lift. The palate is a little soft and lacks verve. A full malo profile that is mostly about salted butter, nectarine, dried apricots, and toast. Saline and butter are dominating the fruit and the floral is quite faint. Flabby. 88

I guess that’s why I drink mine (too) young. I’ve been enjoying the ‘15 and will probably finish them over the summer.

We had the 2011 ‘La Doriane’ a while back and also found that a little cloying.

Personally I only keep a few Condrieus around since we drink them within a year or two of release.

I don’t like the way they change over time.

Yeah, I suspect this wine was better a few years ago. I’m told some Condrieu can age (I’ve only tried a couple that had any real age on them), but I think I’ll stick to drinking them soon after release.
