2011 Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT - Italy, Tuscany, Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT (12/1/2017)
– popped and poured –
– tasted a couple pours non-blind over approx. 60 – 90 minutes –

NOSE: very expressive; mineral; cherry.

BODY: medium-full bodied.

TASTE: fantastic pair with game lasagna; good acidity; a touch oaky and a bit tannic; young, but drinking well; excellent wine. Gut impression score: 93 – 95.

In most years, my favorite Tuscan wine. Haven’t opened an 11 yet though; thx for the note.

I also opened a bottle recently, my first. I thought it has excellent raw materials but is much too young and raw currently. Should age really well. I think 2011 is under-heralded in Tuscany and this wine is one of the best of that vintage.
