TN: 2011 Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts

  • 2011 Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru (12/7/2013)
Feels like it was picked relatively early. Very cool, loaded with minerals. Very direct with a big squeeze of lemon juice and a touch of flora. Finishes with a puff of chalk.

All of the Puligny wines from Sauzet are like that Jeremy to me. I bought Combettes, Referts and one other Puligny. Very high tones. Not really green but quite lean feeling. FWIW.

We tasted them at the Domaine in April Don and yes they all were compact with a big citric snap and plenty of floral notes. I quite like them by the way.
