TN: 2011 Dönnhoff Dellchen Riesling Grosses Gewachs (Germany, Nahe)

2011 Dönnhoff Dellchen Riesling - Germany, Nahe (1/8/2015)
Brilliant wine that combines palate richness, surprisingly bright acidity for the vintage, citrus fruit, stone and a long finish. I would venture that it is near the top end of the range for trocken wine, but it does not come across as having sweetness, just incredible richness.

Did you buy a case David? Donnhoff`s wines are so expensive here of course.

A 6-pack mixed case of the Grosses Gewachs wines Bob. That’s 2 each of Felsenberg, Dellchen and Hermannshöhle. Not cheap, but well worth it.

Haven’t opened this one, but the Felsenberg GG I had came across almost a little raw and undeveloped. I had a preference for the 12 vintage, which seemed better balanced and complete.
