2011 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Valmur - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Pale gold. A bouquet of yellow apples, spices, pears and brioche with touches of pineapple and meadow flowers. In the mouth, tactile, intense, nervous and energetic. Fairly prominent 2011-typical acids. Grapefruit, beeswax, greengages, mint and some peach. A backbone of rocky minerality. Only medium mid palate weight. Finishes dry and moderately long. Others may not like this austere style of Chablis as much as I do. No immediate hurry to drink this wine but I wouldn’t expect it to be ultra-long lived. (92-93) (92 pts.)
