2010 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spatlese Meulenhof
Very pale yellow with touch of green.
Aroma > Lemon/lime, key-lime, sultanas, ripe yellow-peach & nectarine.
Golden uncooked wild-herb honey, honeysuckle, strawberry, lemon egg-custard, tangerine, blood-orange & lime-zest.
Very rich & creamy, but at the same time steely, slatey & pungent.
Amazing complexity & wildl freshness - what a perfume!
Palate > Starts rich & creamy & ends with that pungent 2010 twang of lime-flesh, citrus-pith, bitter-lime, minerality & lazer acidity.
In between - round & sappy, with kiwi-fruit, rich, fat white-peach, nectarine, pink-grapefruit/lime, starfruit, crystallized pineapple & mango.
Medium + concentration & intensity.
The long finish & aftertaste of heavenly slightly bitter-lime, key-lime & lime-flesh with a pungent twang is absolutely Killer, & goes on & on.
These magical 2010 acids!
Seems just medium sweet with great balance of fruit, flesh, backbone & acidity.
This is a nose in front of their Erdener Treppchen Alte Reben Spatlese, which is a Mosel standard for me.
Impressive.
