TN: 2010 Sojourn Pinot Noir Rodgers Creek Vineyard Sonoma Coast

  • 2010 Sojourn Pinot Noir Rodgers Creek Vineyard Sonoma Coast - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (6/27/2014)
Pretty nose of red strawberries, cool red raspberries and cola. Palate shows a wonderfully balanced and focused Pinot with class and elegance. Deep red fruits with a hint of sassafras, soy and warm vanilla. Tannins are well formed and complicated and acidity spot-on. Love its ‘sense of place’, this has some great minerality, sassafras & tea leaf notes too. Finish keeps all this stuff going long after its gone down. This has quickly become my favorite of the Sojourn Pinot lineup and for good reason, its just awesome expression of an elevated Sonoma Coast pinot— ‘some second level stuff going on here’ (93 pts.)

This has also become my favorite of the Sojourn Pinot lineup. I had a bottle two years ago soon after release and gave it 95 points, and it sounds like it is still showing well. Tempting to open another now, but I’ll probably give me other two bottles a bit more time to see how they develop.

Check my notes on the '09. We drank this with Jay Hack et al last week.
