TN: 2010 Sandler Wine Company Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch

  • 2010 Sandler Wine Company Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (10/19/2014)
This wine is SO very difficult to let sit, as it is delicious young, but I was very pleased to find it in the cellar, and was generously rewarded. What a beautiful, rich, and spicy Pinot. You expect the spiciness from Keefer Ranch, but the added bottle time gives the wine a smoother balance, as it is relatively high abv. Explosive fruit on the forepalate, continues on until the finish, which is just a bit short, and brings forth the alcohol a bit. Regardless, even with a touch of heat, this is a fantastic Pinot - no surprise, coming from Ed Kurtzman, the king of Pinot. Wish I had more!

Thanks for the note, Todd. Ed’s Sandler label is the newest wine on my radar. I have 5 ‘en route’ right now.
I plan on opening as soon as possible and ordering more it what happens that I expect to happen…

Looks like about 3 cases are due to arrive tomorrow… plus another 2 of August West.

Thanks for the TN, Todd. I’ve always felt Ed has a special touch with Keefer and Rosella’s fruit. Will hope to find some of this somewhere along the line.

Sante,

Mike

IMHO, Ed has a special touch with just about everything he makes!!!
