TN: 2010 Pio Cesare Barolo (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo)

  • 2010 Pio Cesare Barolo - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (11/13/2017)
Been a couple years since my last bottle…still very youthful with a tannic pucker, but the fruit seems to be starting to redden up and become more translucent from the dark primary beast it once was. Dried cherries and red berries with pretty florals and still a good dose of dusty sawdust dryness. White pepper, dried roses, tobacco spice…red licorice and crunchy minerals as well…lifted orange and cherry skin acidity…slight tar…solid structure built for years in the cellar. Tasty right now for the florals and spices…and the raw and energized youthfulness. Again, as I keep saying, I NEED CASES of this to cellar because I keep opening them when I should be cellaring! 20yrs old it will be amazing…if I can just get one bottle there! +pts (94 pts.)
