2010 P. Dubreuil-Fontaine Père & Fils Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Clos Berthet - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru (11/2/2014)
A rich, almost oily wine, very nice flavors, slight twist of lemon, good acidity, great match to bacon wrapped scallops. (91 pts.)
Big thumbs up on this one. The '11 also shines. I think D-F nailed it with their '11’s.
I like this wine a lot. I have more of it (from several vintages) than any other white wine… but not as much as Peter C!
I’m already onto the 12 vintage. Solid qpr wine…
We’ve had a few bottles of this - very good each time. Thanks for posting.
Only had reds from this estate. Need to seek out some white…
Totally agree. Sadly D-F wines do not come to Quebec, Canada too often.
Bill, did you ever try the Clos Berthet before it got promoted to a 1ieme cru …
Red could only be a village wine…
Red from another Pernand 1er, not this one.
Maybe he means the red Berthet is classified as a villages, although the white was elevated not long ago.
I’ve had the '10 Ile de Vergelesses, which was also good, though maybe not at the level of Chandon de Briailles.

Yes, that could be, too. The 05 IdV is also quite nice - that’s the wine I was thinking of that I liked so much.
Well, '05. Try Rollin’s '10 IdV if you get a chance.

Berthet blanc was elevated to 1ieme cru in 2000 - I think.
So long ago - good catch.
I had a mostly premoxed 2009 Clos Berthet tonight. Drinkable in a pinch but my wife rejected it. I think I’ll try my 2008 and 2010 again soon. They’ve been solid but I don’t want to get surprised.
Damn. Wonder if the riper, fleshier 2009 vintage contributed to that? I don’t have any 2010s left, might have one 2012 left, haven’t seen the 2013 yet, but I’ll bet it’s pretty good.
The 2010 Bourgogne blanc ain’t too shabby either but it’s taken a couple of years to come around.
Need to drink up my 2008 faster that I would like to…
Two bottles of the 11 were very very advanced, just about drinkable but bordering on shot, last August.
Was not impressed.

I had a bottle of the 2011 - that had been bought ex-domaine - last July and it was sublime to the point that I immediately wrote an email to the domaine that I want to visit again the following month and buy more. To my delight 2013 seems to be even better vintage for the whites than 2011.
