Pop n pour. Quite restrained initially, served a little too chilled. Opening up to show dark but light and fresh fruit aromatics, plums and cherries, and persistent but not dominant liquorice root.
In the mouth it’s juicy and cool; fine and quite precise, resolved tannins. Clear granitic origin. Good acidity, not at all tart. Slight almond bitterness. No trace of wood, if it saw any it was light and old. Still young but very pleasant, transparent and inviting. A little short.
Another bottle some months ago showed a bit less primary fruit and more pronounced minerality. More likely variability in the taster than the wine.
Went well with roast chicken. I could see it accompanying light game or even robust fish.
12% alc. About 50% Brancellao the rest Ferrol, Caiño Longo, Caiño Redondo.
I have a few more bottles, would buy again even if only ok qpr.
