2010 Lucien Le Moine Echezeaux - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru (1/28/2013)
Delicate yet complex nose displaying ripe blackberries, sour cherries, white flowers, earth, a slight hint of licorice/sweet spices, limestone and surprisingly already a hint of Vosne spices. The palate displays delicate sappy fruits, copious amount of mineral, bright acidity and sweet but noticeable tannins. This is a very precise and energetic wine with pure red fruits that Burgundy traditionalists will love. Perhaps if it were a white, it would have been the 10 Dauvissat les Clos. I have been buying Le Moine reds based on Antonio and a retailer friend’s advice and I have been extremely happy. I just read the Antonio’s review and I agree wholeheartedly with his assessment.
