As I was dashing out of my warehouse late Friday evening, I grabbed a bottle of this to check in on another 2010. The nose is bright, fresh and earthy, and quite expressive for a young Gouges. It has plenty of up-front fruit and is fleshy, but firm through the mid-palate, with good concentration, delineation and focus. It finishes with firm tannins and a strong soil/iron note, like a real Nuits-St.-Georges should, unlike the sissy stuff from the north. This should be a really nice bottle with 15 or 20 years on it. Based upon this bottle, those who have 2010 Gouges in their cellars should be very happy.
Disclaimer: I sell Henri Gouges wines (and I like the sissy stuff from the north, too).
