TN: 2010 Giacomo Conterno Barbera d'Alba Cascina Francia

2010 Giacomo Conterno Barbera d'Alba Cascina Francia - Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Barbera d'Alba (11/21/2024)
Popped and poured at cellar temp. Deep, dark purple color. Lovely nose with mint, coriander, dark black berry fruit and loamy earth. Time in the bottle has done it a world of good on the palate, with any harsh edges rounded out. Nice sweet black fruit on the attack with some deep black licorice on the middle palate and a nice long acid filled finish. I have not generally been a big Barbera fan, but this is lovely. Drinking great today, but nowhere nearing falling off a cliff.
