TN: 2010 Giacomo Brezza & Figli Barolo

  • 2010 Giacomo Brezza & Figli Barolo - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (1/7/2015)
Nose: The nose is very pretty and enveloping with strawberries, red fruits, roses, tar, black cherries, mint, and some spice notes. There is nice depth with a more feminine style to the nose.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium/high and silky tannins. The structure creeps up a bit with air and becomes more noticeable. Even with the more youthful structure, there is a prettiness to the feel with strawberries, red fruits, roses, tar, and spice notes.

Overall: This is a very pretty Barolo and is a great buy for ~$40. If one is to drink it young, it should be opened now to enjoy the freshness. Otherwise, let this rest for the better part of 7-10 yrs and let it work out the nuances that are there. (91 pts.)

We sell these, always good value, but still fly under the radar. The Barbera Cannubi Muscatel is my favorite Barbera out there.

Go Gunners!
