TN: 2010 Domaine Leroy Bourgogne-Aligoté (France, Burgundy, Bourgogne-Aligoté)

  • 2010 Domaine Leroy Bourgogne-Aligoté - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne-Aligoté (9/24/2014)
OK….not at ALL like the stank fest 07! This one is clean as a whistle……brilliant yellow/green color….shy nose of lemon creme, peach pit, flint, crushed minerals, very faint sherry. Really lacking aromatically. In the mouth…pretty rich for an aligote….pitted orchard fruits, lemon grapefruit citrus……creamy lemon curd, chalky minerals, ginger/white pepper spice….some smoke, green apple drizzled with honey. Very vibrant and fresh with some nice complexities and a good feel…yet seems to be holding back some. I think a little age and a break out of its shell could make this killer! For now…ain’t too shabby…and will be MUCH better received than the 07! +pts (93 pts.)

Yeah, right.

Dude you’d like this one…actually reminds me of a still Dom P!!

For you LEROY experts…is the Aligote and Corton Charlie the only whites produced now from the Domaine? Besides d’Auvenay.

Aligote is a grape I’m starting to discover. The 2010 Bachelet aligote is also an electric wine.

From their web site:

Auxey-Duresses “Les Lavières”
Bourgogne Blanc
Côteaux Bourguignons (sic) Blanc

I have to smile.

Me too…takes all kinds.

Côteaux Bourguignons Blanc - red face.

Lol
