TN: 2010 Domaine du Murinais Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée les Amandiers

Bright ruby red in the glass with a nice bright meniscus and lots of nice red legs. Nose has a somewhat reticent floral spiciness, with fruit and floral notes emerging on the palette. There is a strong sense of silky-smooth dark red rose-hips on the back of the palette. The finish has quite a bit of grip to it; as expected this wine still has some development in the cellar ahead of it.

Left a healthy glass worth in the bottle; vacuvin’ed and put in the cellar. On the second day the palette is a bit more open and the fruit has brightened up a bit; the finish is still really intriguing, it goes on for some time and gets deeper and deeper with each sip which bodes well indeed for the future. Citrus and dark cherry with the rose-hips on the last sip. Yum!

One final note: after the last sip on the second night, the flavor of the wine just lingered and grew over many many minutes - this wine would seem to offer something to look forward to.

Hold for at least a few more years. (90 pts.)
