TN: 2010 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette Cuvée Tardive

  • 2010 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette Cuvée Tardive - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Fleurie (4/26/2012)
Structured. Clamped down pretty hard initially. But sweet black cherry and strawberry flavors emerge. Clean, lean, and edgy, with lots of minerals and earth. Needs some air to really open up. Quite tasty, but could use some time.

I got six of these so I’ve been tempted open one this year, but maybe I’ll just let them sleep.

Thanks for the note.

The 2009 of this is epic but also very structured.

Yep, I grabbed a bit from Envoyer as well so this was in the name of research.
I’d wait. And will.

Coudert from any vintage needs time, for my tastes. (although the 2009 regular was pretty approachable when it came out)

i tried Coudert’s 2010s for the first time back in October and were blown away by both. haven’t had either in a couple months, but expect great things from them.

I blew through 8 of my 10 bottles 2010 Coudert Tardive with great enjoyment. I guess I hold the last 2 to see what happens.

How does the non tardive compare to the tardive?

Both are awesome, but the regular Roilette’s much more accessible right now. Drinking it now while holding the Tardive for some years.

Gotta find this one.

Exactly Salil.

Suzanne, you must’ve caught that Tardive in its sweet spot! My experience is similar to Dennis. It’s a little tight now and I expect it to benefit from a few years of cellaring.
