2010 Ceritas Pinot Noir Escarpa Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (10/30/2020)
Darker ruby, barely translucent. Nose of fresh cut raspberry, cherry pits, full blown violets, cinnamon, hints of iron, damp cellar. Pure notes of dark cherry and red raspberry on the palate with just the right amount of piquant plum, iron particles, and for lack of a better description, slightly smudgy savory earth to provide complexity. Softened tannin and bright acidity leading to a long finish of deep reaching red fruit, brier, and satisfying grip. Scintillating wine caught in its early adolescence. (93 pts.)
