TN: 2010 BV Georges de la Tour Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Had the 2010 BV Georges de la Tour yesterday.
A friend of mine told me it was great.
As you know, I drink Cabernet but it is not my go to.

2010 BV Georges de la Tour Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

A really open beautiful nose. Primary darker fruit mixed with an element of spice that is totally integrated. Really effusive for such a young wine. Sexy.
The palate after a good double decant and 2 hour wait is absolutely stunning.
A real sense of energy. Lively. The balance is special. One of the best considering balance that I have had in a long time. Gorgeous sexy texture with penetrating
darker fruit. The finish is long and very complex even at this young age. Very much like a young Pauillac but more expressive. The alcohol level is perfect in this wine.

I am buying a few to cellar. $79 at Costco for folks who want to know.

This kills any $ 100 - 150 cab on the market including my favorite Spottswoode. It is better than the Dominus which is saying something. You can put any of the cult cabs in here too that are priced $250 and up.

I don’t buy much Cali cab but this could get me back in the market.

BTW, it held up sitting next to an 1989 Lynch Bages. That tells me a lot.

Thanks Don, not on my radar but I’ll seek one out to try. Easy get locally.

Encouraging to read for sure!

How was the booze on this Don? The one time I had it it seemed a bit hot.

The alcohol was not noticeable to me.
