TN: 2010 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast

  • 2010 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (4/24/2012)
Nice ruby color with slight cloudiness. Nose of flowers earth and cherry. The palate has cherry, earth, and well integrated acidity with a decent finish. One can debate the relative merits of the Sonoma bottlings vs the Anderson Valley from this producer, but I’m always impressed with the quality of the fruit and winemaking from these folks. Nice note. I drank the Kutch Sonoma 2010 last night. It was very nice. I don’t drink or buy too many Sonoma Pinot Noirs, but the Kutch was a style I really liked. I imagine it would be fun to drink the Kutch and the Anthill together as they are among a very small hand full of California Pinot producers I buy and drink.

I haven’t had any Kutch as I’ve been trying to cut down on my mailing lists and haven’t had a chance to have it otherwise. I suspect you are right, it would be fun to compare these two producers. I’m sure someone on this board already has. Look forward to seeing your notes if you do.
