Opened this at noon and I’ve been following it through the days NFL Playoffs. A winner for sure!

2009 Wind Gap Wines Nebbiolo Luna Matta Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles (1/11/2014)
Rustic nose, explosive fruit in the mouth, bursting with acid and grippy tannins. Wow, this is good!

I really enjoyed my lone bottle of the 2006. Thanks for taking one for the team with the 2009.

Not sure they do anymore. They don’t take fruit from Luna Matta anymore at any rate. We’ve been getting fruit at Harrington the past couple of years from the block that Wind Gap used to get (and we get some from other blocks there too). Pax made some good Nebbiolo from there when he was getting the fruit. Stephy Terrizzi does a very nice job growing the fruit at Luna Matta.

I liked this a lot too.

Tom Hill would be the expert here, but just based on this wine, I would project the success of Nebbiolo in California (for wild-eyed producers intrepid enough to jump in).
