I’ve only had the #10 but it was one of the best young Spatleses I’ve ever had. I will seek out the #5 as well.

Hi there,

Willi Schaefer’s 2009s are mind-expandingly brilliant. I visited last summer and every single wine we tried had my friends and I chortling with dissolute mirth. We purchased a shed-load. I could only afford some Kabinetts but they will provide many smiles.

This is a statement that could be easily applied to any number of vintages back to 1993 (when I first started tasting the wines) or earlier.

I can’t find the #5 via WS pro, but the 10 and the regular Spat seem to be readily available. I assume this is great wine irrespective of the auction #, and not be too consumed with seeking specific lots? I have yet to try a WS wine but that will change very soon me thinks.

AP#5 is usually the highest priced among his regular (non auction) Domprobst Spatlese. All are damn good wines though.

Not to be pendantic but its actually not an auction # but an AP Number. If Im not mistaken every wine that goes out has an AP number. Its something required by the government.
