TN: 2009 Tor Kenwood Cabernet, Beckstoffer To Kalon 337

Being selective though - I had an '05 and '06 Shafer Hillside Select in the last 6 months that showed very well. A couple of years back I had an '10 SHS that I felt was still a bit young. And they are very big wines. The other dynamic is that the pendulum has seemed to swing back in the last decade or so. I do have an '04 Hobbs BTK that probably needs to go!

Better one day too young than one day too old.

Pulled one of my remaining bottles for the braised short ribs/oxtail I am making. Tasted it again to verify that I just don’t like it but that it is fine to cook with and into the braise it went.

I also gave a bottle away to my brother just in case he liked it.

Down to one bottle remaining and expect it will go into a future short rib braise as well.

Ouch… So who does produce some of the best age worthy To Kalon? Have heard some good data points on Realm

Hope you’re right…as i have some 2012’s in the cellar (daughter’s birth-year)

Schrader, Mondavi, MACDONALD, haven’t had Realm so cannot offer a personal opinion, but read good things.
