TN--2009 Myriad Beckstoffer GIII Cab--Mike on tour Unplugged--last stop Nov 15

With good friends in Basking Ridge, NJ and with my homemade burgers. I would be remiss in not including a note on this, which was an enormously generous gift from my friends Chet and Jo who I visited earlier on the trip in Yonkers. I definitely was keen to check in on this and was not disappointed. Spices, perfume, bits of chocolate and coffee and rich black cherry and plum swirl up the glass. Palate is rich but oh so velvety, terrific plush feel full of black cherry and plum pie with baking spices lurking about. Already showing well but surely with many years of enjoyment to give, it was a pure pleasure wine. When I think of how I first met Mike Smith in 2006 when he was making his first single barrel of Syrah…well, it is a lot of fun for me to enjoy his and Leah’s success and growth as a winemaker this way. Bravo, Mike.

Skal,

Mike

Thanks for the notes, Mike. I may have to open one soon!!!

Mike - I wish I had known you were in the area! Would have loved to get a group together. Please let me know next time?

Whoops—the curse of not knowing where everyone lives. Absolutely, Sherri, I will definitely look forward to that.

Best and sorry!

Mike
