TN: 2009 Louis Carillon Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières

  • 2009 Louis Carillon Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru (5/31/2014)
Has that; rarely seen, beautiful, crystal clear, light green gold color. Just lovely color! The nose still shows a tinge of vanilla but not rudely so. This has the most silky texture as to almost call out for a bit more acid. That said, this is not remotely fat or flabby but rather elegantly placid. The finish is very long and there is a sense of reserved power and concentration. Extremely pretty with delicacy. The vanilla carries over to the palate with sort of a tango lime creaminess. Quite beguilling and regal as you’d hope for from a world class Puligny producer. The only way I could think more highly of this wine was for it to show a little more acid. (93 pts.)

lovely!

Sounds very good Craig. Are you sure that wasn’t labelled as Jacques Carillon?

Nope, the old label and listed as Louis. Must have been one of the last.

very nice!
