2009 J.I. Etxeberria Getariako Txakolina Bengoetxe #3 - Spain, País Vasco, Getariako Txakolina (4/15/2011)
Yellow gold. Clean nose showing shells, minerals and some lime. This is bone dry and lovely. Minerals and tart citrus on entry. Just a hint of effervessence. More complex elements develop as the wine warms and takes on air. Sour apple and some herbal notes and a hint of saline. Medium finish.
This has extremely high acid and is laden with minerals. All of the flavors are in essence rather than pronounciation. It seems a shame to drink it on a battleship grey cold night in Seattle when it seems more appropriate for a sunny terrace in the summertime. It paired nice with a grilled chicken over bitter greens though.
