TN: 2009 German Wine Auction Tasting at Dee Vine

2009 GERMAN WINE AUCTION TASTING AT DEE VINE - Dee Vine Wines, Pier 19, San Francisco (10/24/2009)

As usual, Dee Vine’s annual auction tasting was full of magical elixirs. Particular standouts for me were the '04 Schloss Schönborn Erbacher Marcobrunn Riesling Spätlese Goldkapsel, the '99 Robert Weil Kiedricher Gräfenberg Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel Auction (an extra, from Dee Vine owner Dade Thieriot’s personal cellar), the '98 Diel Dorsheimer Goldloch Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel Auction, and the '98 Von Hövel Oberemmeler Hütte Riesling Eiswein. For a German red, the '06 Frühburgunder was also impressive, and surprisingly Burgundian in flavor profile.

Great notes Richard. One small complaint though…why don’t you give us an idea of maturity? When are these going to be at their optimal drinking point? newhere [wink.gif]

Richard; fantastic notes as usual, keep them coming!

I swear I’m going to ban Richard out of pure jealousy.
