2009 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Crau - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (11/6/2012)
Dark garnet color. Typical Grenache heavy nose showing red berries and some pepper/herbal aromatics. The palate is exuberant & youthful with rich, bright raspberries accented with layers of black currants. Silky mouthfeel, concentrated & intensely fruited. Some good raw material which should mellow out in the next few years.

Last time I tried this wine (a month or two ago), it could definitely use some time to shed some of its exuberance. Trying to keep my hands off of my 2010s.
Give it air (2009)- it keeps getting better.
I didn’t write a note, but I usually leave things on the counter overnight. I liked it, but it was a little exuberant. I’ll try it again next year.
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s going to be great. I love all the Brunier wines. I was defending them in the CdP thread. Just not yet sold on the 2009s.
